My final project as an illustration major at Indiana Wesleyan University was to create eight illustrations from a story. I chose “The Lunar Chronicles”, a series of books by Marissa Meyer. The books are a play on well-known fairy tails and set in a sci-fi universe. I love rewritings of fairy tails because although the characters can be completely rewritten, they still feel familiar. Illustrating these eight scenes from the book was so fun and it makes me want to do more stuff like this. All these illustrations were done on sanded pastel paper with chalk pastels.
